The OLED Screen

The unit has a small OLED screen that shows a connectivity status bar across the top, plus one of several screens below it depending on what the unit is doing.

The status bar

The status bar appears along the top row of almost every screen and shows four icon pairs, left to right: WiFi, 4G/LTE, Ethernet, and Cloud (MQTT).

What each icon means

Each network icon (WiFi / 4G / Ethernet) is followed by a small tick or cross:

Icon pairMeaning
WiFi + tickWiFi is connected and has an address
WiFi + crossWiFi is not connected
4G/LTE + tickThe cellular connection is up and has an address
4G/LTE + crossThe cellular connection is not up
Ethernet + tickEthernet is connected and has an address
Ethernet + crossEthernet is not connected

The Cloud icon (last in the row) shows the state of the unit's connection to CoppelBox's cloud:

IconMeaning
Ethernet / WiFi / 4G icon, highlightedConnected to the cloud — the highlighted icon shows which network it's using
CrossNot connected to the cloud
"S"Waiting for the unit's clock to sync before it can connect securely
Sad faceThe unit has no cloud configuration or credentials loaded — this shouldn't appear on a normally provisioned unit

No alerts or battery status on screen

Alerts and battery/power status are not shown on the OLED — check the CoppelBox dashboard for those. The screen only ever shows connectivity and relay state.

The PROVISION REQUIRED screen

Units ship already registered to the CoppelBox cloud, so a working unit should boot straight to the relay screen. PROVISION REQUIRED appears on the Device Info screen only if the unit has no cloud identity yet — this is not a normal state for a unit that has already been set up and used.

If you see PROVISION REQUIRED on a unit that previously worked, or on a brand-new unit straight out of the box, see Troubleshooting and contact support rather than trying to fix it yourself.
