Alerts & Notifications

Devices raise alerts automatically when they detect a fault condition. Alerts appear in the app in real time — you don't need to refresh.

What triggers an alert

Alerts are raised by the device itself when a measurement crosses a limit or a fault is detected. The conditions include:

  • Overcurrent — a relay's current exceeded its threshold, e.g. "Relay 2: Overcurrent detected (16A > 13A)".
  • Overvoltage / Undervoltage — supply voltage outside its limits.
  • Overtemperature — temperature above its threshold.
  • Power loss — power lost on a monitored circuit.
  • Communication failure — the device lost contact with an internal component.

Every alert carries a priority:

PriorityBadge colour
CRITICALRed
HIGHOrange
MEDIUMYellow
LOWBlue

Where alerts appear

  • On the device tile — the bell icon next to the device ID turns into a red ringing bell while the device has any active alert. In the compact list view the red bell appears at the end of the device's row.
  • In the alert window — click the bell (red or grey) to open the device's alerts. The window title reads "Alerts for <device name> (<device ID>)" and refreshes itself every few seconds while open.

The alert window has three tabs — All, Active, and Cleared (each with a count) — plus tick-box filters for the four priorities. Each alert shows:

  • its priority badge and message;
  • ✗ when it was triggered;
  • ✓ when it cleared (if it has);
  • how long it lasted.

Export to CSV downloads the currently filtered list — useful for records or for sending to support.

Acknowledging / clearing

You don't clear alerts manually. An alert stays Active for as long as the device reports the fault condition, and moves to Cleared automatically once the condition goes away (for example, the current drops back under the threshold). Cleared alerts remain in the device's alert history, so nothing is lost.

If an alert stays active and you can't resolve the underlying cause, raise a ticket — see Reporting an Issue.
